The cook at bread and brew cafe is responsible for preparing high quality food items that reflect the cafe's menu, standards and customer experience. This role supports daily kitchen operations by ensuring food is prepared safely, efficiently and consistently while maintaing cleanliness in a fast paced cafe environment.
Preparing, seasoning and cooking café menu items including breakfast, mains, desserts and kids meals.
Ensuring consistency, quality and presentation of all dishes.
Planning daily food preparation and assisting with menu execution. Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other equipments.
Portioning food, Seasoning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes.
Monitoring stock levels, rotating ingredients and minimising food waste.
Working efficiently during busy service periods and coordinating with front-of-house staff.
Complying with workplace health and safety requirements.
Minimum Certificate III in Cookery (or equivalent)
Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience as a Cook in a café, restaurant or commercial kitchen environment.
Strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
Ability to work in a fast-paced cafe kitchen.
Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
Good time-management and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Availability to work weekends, public holidays and peak trading hours.
