About The Role
The role of the Ward Administration Support Officer is to provide effective service delivery and patient-focused support following West Moreton Health's purposes and objectives, responding to general customer enquiries, and providing timely and accurate information and assistance to clients and staff as outlined below.
Some Of The Key Responsibilities Of The Role Are
Ensure patients and other staff are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds.Grow and engage with new programs and processes adopted within the health service, with an open mind and willingness to learn.Respond to general reception inquiries on the ward by answering all incoming telephone calls and ensuring accurate transfer of messages and information to support patients and staff. As the primary contact on the ward, assist and direct visitors by accessing patient information and providing an effective and courteous front counter service.Conduct patient interviews to verify information and financial details to complete the Patient Election Form (PEF) process.Contribute to patient flow efficiencies on the ward and throughout the hospital by liaising with a range of staff to coordinate appointments, resources, and movements on behalf of patients.Consult with patients to obtain correct details for completion of admissions to the ward and record information accurately into the hospital information systems.

Have strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment and autonomously whenAbility to prioritize and meetPositive and effective customerProficiency in the application of internal hospital information systems in addition to Microsoft Word andKnowledge or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of basic medical terminology to extract and interpret pertinent information from patient medical records and hospital information systems.

Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
