About the role

Penfold Marine is seeking a motivated and eager Apprentice Shipwright / Boat Builder to join our team in Williamstown, VIC. This is a full-time role where you will have the opportunity to learn and develop skills in the construction, repair and maintenance of various marine vessels.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting with the repair and maintenance of Aluminium, wooden, fiberglass vessel

• Learning techniques for hull shaping, planking, decking, fiber glassing, gel coating, painting and other boat building skills

• Developing proficiency in the use of hand and power tools, as well as specialized marine equipment

• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications

• Completing apprenticeship training and working towards achieving your Shipwright qualification

• Contributing to a safe and productive work environment

What we're looking for

• A passion for the marine industry and a desire to learn the craft of boat building

• Good hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude

• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions

• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Willingness to undertake an apprenticeship program and complete relevant training
