We are currently seeking an Assistant Accountant/Accountant to support the CFO in Archerfield Qld, along with the growing needs of the Finance Team nationwide.  Seeking applications from Degree qualified team players, with a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role, who are considering studying or already working towards CA/CPA status.

What Will I Be Doing?

Reporting directly to the Chief Finance Officer,

 1.      You will be supporting the CFO by:

• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements – including balance sheets and profit and loss statements

• Month-End Accounts – assisting with monthly reporting

• Forecasting and Budgets – supporting the budget and forecasting process

• GST/ BAS returns – assisting with monthly returns schedule

• Financial Analysis – assisting in analysis of various projects

• General Ledger Maintenance - maintaining accurate general ledger records by classifying transactions appropriately

• Bank Reconciliation – daily bank reconciliations

2.      Supporting the Finance Team during periods of leave and in times of extra support needed with:

• Payroll duties – fortnightly processing of payroll for 3 companies

• Data Entry – accurately inputting financial transactions into MYOB including invoices, receipts and payments

• Accounts Payable/Receivable – processing invoices, generating customer statements, and managing accounts receivable collections

• Administration Tasks – managing multiple email inboxes, filing documents, maintaining accounting records, and providing support to the Finance Team as needed.

Assistant Accountant/Accountant Minimum Requirements:

• Degree Qualified in – Finance, Accounting, Business or similar

• 2-3 years experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role

• Proficiency with MYOB

• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written

• Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail

• Dependable, punctual and quick to adapt

• Ability to pass random and routine drug and alcohol screening for employment purposes

• Full, unrestricted working rights for Australia.

 Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

• Considering studying or are already working towards CA/CPA status.
