As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a motivated and ambitious Occupational Hygienist to join us and help shape the future of our business. Who We're Looking ForWe’re seeking a qualified Occupational Hygienist with hands-on experience in a NATA-accredited laboratory environment.

Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field. Minimum 3 years’ industry experience, with solid knowledge of asbestos and hazardous materials legislation. Familiarity with ISO 17025 and NATA accreditation requirements (highly desirable). Experience with ISO 9001 and or AS 5370 (previously AS 4964) / ISO 22262 (advantageous). Strong grasp of WHS regulations, asbestos management plans, and risk assessments. Understanding of PPE requirements and safety procedures (training provided). Willingness to complete all necessary safety training, including Working at Heights and asbestos-specific equipment use. Experience in managing staff in the daily operation of a laboratory (highly desirable) Thrives when working independently, with excellent time management and self-direction. Current, unrestricted Australian driver’s license. Experience using Ascora software (nice to have, not essential). Asbestos Assessor License (highly desirable). Membership with the AIOH (well-regarded).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Asbestos Sampling and Analysis: Carry out asbestos inspections, sampling, analysis, and reporting in line with AS 5370:2024 and ISO 17025 standards. Maintain full chain of custody documentation and follow all NATA-accredited quality protocols. Perform accurate analysis using methods such as PLM, strictly adhering to SOPs and QA systems.
Training & Regulatory Compliance:Stay up to date with asbestos-related regulations at all levels and ensure all work is fully compliant.Participate in regular internal training and compliance reviews to uphold safety and best practices.
Client Communication: Communicating effectively with clients to explain sampling procedures, test results, and recommendations in clear and understandable terms. Personable and professional communication with clients, other contractors and civilians onsite is imperative.
