Task & Responsibilities
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Plan and Prepare Meals: Create and cook healthy, balanced, and child-friendly meals in line with dietary guidelines and individual needs.
- Create Excitement: Design appealing and varied menus that encourage children to enjoy nutritious foods.
- Ensure Safety and Hygiene: Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations, including food allergies and special dietary requirements.
- Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with the educators to ensure mealtimes are enjoyable and contribute to children’s social and emotional development.
Qualification & Experience
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
- Experience in a similar role, preferably within an early learning or child care setting.
- Knowledge of safe food handling practices and relevant qualifications (Food Safety Certificate).
- A passion for creating nutritious meals for children and a commitment to promoting healthy eating habits.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- A current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) is preferred.
