Al Dente Pasta and Pizza, part of Aikyam Pty Ltd, is a popular Italian restaurant offering both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes in Coogee, WA. We are currently looking for a talented and passionate Chef (Full-time/ 38 Hours per week) to join our friendly team. Tasks & responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Menu Development: Create and update menus based on market trends, seasonal ingredients, and customer preferences.
- Cost Control: Oversee food pricing, kitchen costs, and inventory management to ensure profitability without compromising quality.
- Food Presentation: Innovatively decorate and present dishes to enhance the dining experience and maintain high visual standards.
- Staff Management: Hire, train, and lead kitchen staff, ensuring a cohesive and efficient work environment.
- Recipe Creation: Introduce new dishes and recipes regularly to keep the menu fresh and exciting.
- Quality Control: Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standard and meets food safety regulations.
- Stock Management: Maintain stock levels and manage ordering, ensuring quality ingredients are always available.
- Collaboration: Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations and exceptional customer service.
- Hygiene and Cleanliness: Ensure kitchen cleanliness and adherence to health and safety standards, including proper food handling and storage.
- Customer Feedback: Actively seek customer feedback on food quality and presentation, using insights to improve offerings.
Qualifications & experience
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 years’ experience as a Chef in a busy kitchen, preferably in an Italian or similar cuisine environment.
- Passion for Italian cuisine and culinary creativity.
- Strong leadership, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations.
