The Civil Engineer will contribute to planning, designing, and supervising residential construction projects, ensuring alignment with engineering principles and compliance with local and national standards. The role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver infrastructure solutions that enhance community living standards.
Salary: $74,000 to $80,000 plus Super depending on experience
Key Responsibilities for the role
• Conduct feasibility studies, including cost analysis, risk assessments and environmental impact evaluations
• Design and draft engineering solutions for residential infrastructure, including road, drainage systems and utility services
• Use civil engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, 12D Model) to produce technical drawings and specifications.
• Evaluate geological and topographical data to inform project design
• Oversee and manage on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications, timelines, and budgets.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders, including architects, surveyors, contractors, and government authorities.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and adjust plans to meet project milestones.
• Inspect completed works and certify project completion in compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
• Ensure projects comply with Australian Standards, Building Codes of Australia, and local council regulations.
• Implement quality assurance processes and conduct regular inspections to monitor work quality and adherence to specifications.
• Prepare and submit necessary documentation for permits and approvals
Essential Criteria:
• Bachelor degree in a related engineering field of study
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
Skills & experience
• Proficiency in civil engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, 12D Model).
• Sound knowledge of Australian Standards, BCA, and relevant legislation.
• Strong understanding of stormwater management, road construction, and utility services.
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective liaison with stakeholders.
• High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
