About the role
The main function of the CNC Machine Setter will be to support the set up and manufacture of CNC machined parts through effective use of CNC machinery. You will be required to ensure that First offs are correct in line with drawing requirements, all equipment is available and fit for use, production tooling is fit for continues use in addition to the the development of operators and apprentices across the manufacturing processes.
Duties:
Operate CNC Machinery.
Set up Manufacture or parts and ensure manufacturing standards are met.
Monitor CNC Machine Operators to ensure they are following instructions.
Manufacture parts that are high standard of quality.
To read and interpret drawings/diagrams and use the appropriate calibrated measuring equipment.
Assist with the analysis of component manufacture for continuous improvement.
Taking dimensions using Quality Expert.
Completing weekly maintenance on machines.
Ensure tooling sheets are followed and updated if required.
Logging machine downtime into software provided.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Trade Certified Machinist or undertaking accredited training to obtain Trade Certificate (preferred).
Ability to recognise and use calibrated measuring equipment.
CNC Machinery operation skills and experience.
Defence Industry knowledge and experience.
Ability to read and interpret drawings.
Awareness of Quality Standards and Requirements.
Able to train/mentor others.
