Client Details
Due to growth and a strong development pipeline, this property group is seeking a Development Accountant to partner with project and development teams, providing crucial financial and project accounting support. This role will suit someone who enjoys being close to the business and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Description
Manage month-end processes, including accruals, journals, and reconciliations
Reconcile bank accounts related to deposits, sales, and settlements weekly
Review settlement statements for residential sales
Prepare commission calculations in line with sales and payment terms
Support the finance team during audit processes and year-end reporting
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and quarterly feasibility reviews
Validate and upload capex budgets
Review project cost allocations and ensure accurate coding
Monitor project cashflows vs. budget/forecast
Help manage purchase order queries for Development and Sales teams
Maintain project records and set up within internal systems
Contribute to ongoing process improvements and ad-hoc finance tasks
Profile
Degree qualified in Accounting or related field
Currently completing or already hold CA/CPA
Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
Previous experience in property or development industry essential
Exposure to financial modelling is advantageous
Experience with JDE or other ERP systems highly regarded
Strong initiative, attention to detail, and ownership over tasks
Familiarity with Australian Accounting Standards / AIFRS
Comfortable adapting to changing priorities in a fast-moving environment
