About the position
We are seeking several highly motivated and experienced managers to join the Department of the Legislative Council in the role of Director (Clerk Grade 11/12). As noted above, we are seeking to fill vacancies across each of our three business areas, and opportunities to rotate between Director roles may also become available, subject to business needs.
Directors provide expert support for the operations of the Legislative Council, its committees and the Department’s corporate, protocol and engagement activities. In this role you will inspire, motivate and lead your team to ensure the department's objectives are met. You will build and maintain relationships with the department's key stakeholders and provide authoritative and timely advice on parliamentary procedure, law, protocol and communications.

Targeted questions
1. A key part of this role is to lead small teams to deliver multiple projects within tight timeframes. How do you manage and motivate staff to deliver projects on time and to a high standard? Please provide examples.
2. In this role, you are required to provide authoritative advice on complex matters of parliamentary practice and procedure to your team and to members of Parliament. Describe your skills and experience providing effective advice, recommendations and information in high pressure situations.
