Unley Community Childcare Centre is a small not-for-profit, community-based Centre licensed for a maximum of 45 children each day. We’re excited to welcome a passionate Early Childhood Teacher and Diploma Qualified Educator who are looking to join a collaborative child-focused environment.

As the ECT you will be responsible for leading the Kindy room team and implementing a play-based preschool program for children aged 3 years to school age. This is a 5 month full-time or part-time contract with the possibility of ongoing employment for the right candidate.

As a Diploma Educator you will work across our over 2's rooms in a casual or part-time capacity providing high-quality early education and care to children aged 2 years to school age.

The successful Educator will:

  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and their fellow educators

  • Work with families and their fellow educators to ensure that children are supported as individuals within a group setting

  • Provide a nurturing and safe environment that supports children's wellbeing and development

  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Be organised and reliable

  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the EYLF and NQF and have previous experience documenting learning, implementing the planning cycle and engaging in reflective practices

  • Develop and implement an engaging, play-based learning program for individual children and the group

  • Use an online learning app to share information with families and educators, and use other computer applications such as Microsoft Word

Essential requirements:

  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent

  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)

  • Current Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (RRHAN-EC)

  • Current Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (HLTAID012)

  • Strong understanding of the EYLF and NQS

Current South Australian teachers registration is required for the ECT role.

Our Centre has applied for the Early Childhood Worker Retention payment from the Australian Government which will support a wage increase of 15% over 2 years.
