EL1 Accountant

A high-profile national government agency is seeking an experienced General Accountant to join its team on a labour hire basis. This is a short term contract role which offers an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of public policy, supporting the financial operations of a key federal entity that drives workplace safety and wellbeing outcomes across Australia.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare annual financial statements in line with government standards
Draft technical accounting position papers
Manage monthly and yearly financial reporting through the CBMS platform
Coordinate external audit processes and liaise with auditors
Contribute financial reporting content to the agency’s annual report

Qualifications & Experience

Degree qualifications in accounting
CPA membership (mandatory)
Baseline Clearance required
Demonstrated experience in technical accounting and financial reporting, ideally within the public sector
