About the role
We are seeking experienced Contract Diesel Fitters / Technicians to join our team. This can be a blended self employed contractor role / casual / part time or in a full-time position where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing customer vessels and assets. As a Diesel Fitter, you will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a variety of vessels from Super Yachts to smaller private leisure craft.
What you'll be doing
Performing scheduled maintenance and inspections on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other components
Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with diesel-powered equipment, and implementing effective repair solutions.
Rebuilding, overhauling, and replacing diesel engine components as required
Maintaining detailed records of all work performed and parts used
Supervising & collaborating with the wider team to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations
Adhering to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment
Potential to progress this role to a Works Manager role
What we're looking for
Formal qualifications in Diesel Fitting or a related trade, such as a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade
Extensive experience (5+ years) as a Diesel Fitter, with a proven track record of maintaining and repairing heavy machinery and equipment
Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex mechanical issues
Strong technical knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems
Proficient in the use of a range of tools and equipment, including computerised diagnostic tools
Commitment to workplace health and safety, with a focus on following procedures and maintaining a safe work environment
Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with team members and our wide customer base.
