Key Responsibilities
Planning menus in collaboration with management and estimating food and labour
costs.
Ordering food supplies and managing inventory effectively.
Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
Discussing food preparation and service details with managers, dietitians, kitchen,
and wait staff.
Demonstrating cooking techniques and advising on procedures to kitchen staff.
Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to established recipes.
Explaining and enforcing hygiene, food safety, and occupational health regulations.
Selecting and training kitchen staff as needed.
Freezing and preserving food as part of stock management.
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience as a Chef (minimum of 1 year preferred)
Formal culinary training or relevant certifications are highly regarded
Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety
standards
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality output
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to learn and adapt to new cooking methods, menu variations, and kitchen
technology
