We are one of Australia’s largest suppliers of rural doctors and we are seeking experienced rural GPs to join our senior medical locum pool. We will allocate a personal recruitment consultant to seek out and match your availability to job opportunities and take care of your placements every step of the way.

The Positions Experienced rural General Practitioners are sought for short and long-term contract locum placements in outback, rural, regional and outer metro in several States of Australia in the following fields: Rural Family GPs – working primarily in clinics.

Rural Generalists – working in clinics, hospital emergency departments and providing inpatient care. GP Proceduralists in Anaesthetics and Obstetrics – Rural generalist duties plus providing anaesthetic and/or obstetric services. Emergency Senior Medical Officers – working in hospital emergency departments.

The locum positions are typically available at district hospitals and clinics across Australia where there are short or long-term vacancies for rural GPs. As well as ongoing continuous roles, there are shorter term vacancies from 1-4 weeks and forward roster periods available of approximately 5 to 14 days per month on a fly-in, fly-out basis. Rural Generalists usually participate in an on-call roster.

To view a selection of GP jobs available click here . Locum doctor payments are made by way of daily rates either on ABN invoice or hospital payroll. Rural placements provide return flights, use of a motor vehicle and accommodation.

Essential Criteria Applicants must be registered with the Medical Board of Australia/AHPRA, be eligible for credentialling in their GP disciplines, hold relevant CPD certificates of currency from RACGP or ACRRM and hold medical indemnity insurance.
