Two year fixed term contract

Adelaide Festival is seeking a strategic, results-oriented Head of Development to lead its income generation strategy. This role will oversee corporate sponsorships, philanthropy and fundraising initiatives. As a key member of the senior management team, the Head of Development will create innovative and compelling strategies, foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, and secure major partnerships that align with Adelaide Festival’s brand and artistic vision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the strategic direction and operations of the Business Development team

• Secure and manage high-value corporate sponsorships and bespoke partnerships

• Oversee philanthropy and donor programs with a focus on long-term engagement and growth

• Develop tailored fundraising proposals and manage grant applications and acquittals

• Drive innovative income-generation strategies and relationship stewardship

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate commercial and philanthropic goals into broader festival planning

• Manage departmental budgets, revenue reporting and performance against targets

What We’re Looking For:

• A proven track record of achieving ambitious revenue targets

• Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen

• Outstanding communication, proposal writing, and stakeholder engagement skills

• Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing high-level relationships

• A broad network of philanthropic, corporate and industry connections

• Familiarity with database management and CRM systems (Tessitura highly desirable)

• A proactive, people-focused mindset and a collaborative approach
