We are seeking an influential, courageous Head of Finance Partnering who is ready to take on a pivotal role in our financial leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for a 'can-do' leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about leading and empowering a team of Finance Partners to deliver Finance's vision best supporting the Bank's strategic priorities.

As the Head of Finance Partnering, you will lead a team of high-performing Finance Partners, passionate about translating financial data into actionable insights to drive strategic priorities. You'll influence decisions, provide expert advice, and ensure alignment between Finance and the Bank's goals.

This role will report directly to our Deputy Head of Finance. It is a key appointment to achieve our strategic ambition and operational success of Finance's refreshed service model. The successful candidate will be a trusted strategic partner, working closely with senior leaders to ensure financial decisions are aligned with the Bank's overall objectives.

Our Head of Finance Partnering will be an inspirational leader with a proven track record in financial partnering and planning. Strong commercial acumen, the ability to build enduring relationships with stakeholders whilst translating complex financial information into clear insights that influence effective decisions, will be critical. You will drive collaboration, provide expert advice, whilst motivating and empowering teams. You will have a keen eye for detail and enjoy solving problems aligned to the Bank's values and strategic goals.

  • Contribute to the broader strategic direction and leadership within the area, sharing accountability with fellow leaders for the overall performance and successful delivery of outcomes.
  • Provide expert advice and insights, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of accounting, financial reporting, procurement, or payroll services that support the organisation's strategic objectives.
  • Uphold operational accountability in people management, budgeting, and processes.
  • Lead, guide, and develop individuals and teams to successfully achieve area-specific outcomes.
  • Recognise and enable workforce performance in a way that fosters continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of policies, systems, and processes, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of information in line with legislative requirements.
  • Identify and proactively address issues, risks, and opportunities, ensuring robust processes are in place.
  • Maximise value for the Bank by managing key relationships and collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture aligned with RBA values, creating an environment that drives high employee engagement and performance.


Your background


We are seeking a highly motivated and inspiring leader to lead the Finance partnering team. Your thought leadership and commitment to serving the public interest, combined with strong stakeholder management skills, resilience, leadership and personable nature will help set you up for success in this key senior Bank leadership role. To be successful in this critical role you will have a detailed understanding of the Australian banking landscape, an ability to produce high quality Business -as-usual and project-related deliverables.
