This is an opportunity for a qualified and experienced Component Rebuild Fitter, working in our Mackay Workshop in Queensland. 

EPSA is seeking a Heavy Equipment Painter to be permanently employed by the

company on a full-time basis. The role focuses on the following duties:

• Prepare vehicle surfaces, including large truck bodies, by removing rough spots, sanding, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion.

• Follow work instructions and technical drawings to ensure surfaces are prepared in compliance with required standards.

• Select appropriate paints, primers, and other materials based on the specific requirements of the vehicle and its components.

• Ensure materials are mixed accurately to achieve the correct colour match and finish.

• Utilize correct spray-painting techniques to apply primer, base coats, and finishing coats to large truck bodies and other vehicle components.

• Ensure even and consistent application of paint to achieve the desired results.

• Inspect completed work for paint defects such as runs, drips, or inconsistencies.

• Conduct touch-ups as needed and ensure the final paintwork meets quality standards.

• Follow safety protocols when handling paint materials, chemicals, and spray equipment.

• Comply with environmental regulations for waste disposal and chemical handling to ensure workplace safety and environmental protection.

• Regularly clean and maintain spray guns, sanders, and other equipment to ensure they are functioning optimally.

• Keep work areas organized and tools in good working condition to ensure efficiency and safety.

About you:

• Experience working to industrial coating specifications

• White card

• Drivers license

• Experience in the construction oil & gas or mining industries desirable

• Strong team player, proactive and reliable with high safety standards

• Police Check

• Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating - highly regarded
