Information Security Engineer

Your new company A global trading firm based in Sydney is seeking a permanent Information Security Engineer to join their information security team. You will be responsible for protecting the company's intellectual property, IT infrastructure, and business operations against internal and external threats.

Your new role You will be overseeing the growth and maturity of the Security Operations Center function that uses EDR, SIEM, SOAR, CSPM, IAM, and various other security controls. Some of your day-to-day duties will include:

Analysing security logs, alerts, and reported events and assisting with the remediation of incidents Hunting for potential security compromises across the infrastructure Supporting and improving technical security controls

Leveraging automation and orchestration solutions to automate repetitive tasks Continually developing and improving incident response playbooks What you'll need to succeed

You will have 3-5 years of relevant experience with a strong security mindset. Your key competencies will include: Previous SOC experience and/or hands-on experience in an enterprise IT environment, managing endpoints, and applications on-prem or in the cloud

Exposure to security controls like IAM, vulnerability management, and endpoint detection and response Automation experience using basic coding skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for cybersecurity
