The Defence Assistance Program (DAP) is a Defence initiative, currently in partnership with the Endeavour Foundation. Based on shared goals, the program seeks to revolutionize what people with disability can achieve in the workplace. Together, the Endeavour Foundation supports Defence personnel to focus on their core duties and contribute to capability through inclusion.
Established in 2014, the Defence Assistance Program provides employment for people with disability across ten Australian Defence Force bases. Employment opportunities are a critical part of an inclusive and empowering community for people with disability. DAP strongly contributes to the Australian Public Service Disability Employment Strategy 2020-25.
DAP offers a comprehensive variety of services and supports in areas such as administrative tasks, office duties, warehouse and logistics, customer service, stock-take and hospitality. These services allow Defence staff and ADF members to return to their core duties. DAP encourages all Australians, from all segments of the community to work alongside the program - providing sustainable working opportunities, and pathways to mainstream employment.
