Position: Full-Time Permanent Chef

Location: Paddington, QLD Salary: $73,200 per year

This role requires a strong understanding of Japanese cuisine, excellent knife skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook high-quality sushi, sashimi, and hot dishes

  • Handle and maintain fresh ingredients, ensuring top-quality seafood and produce

  • Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control

  • Adhere to strict hygiene and safety standards in all food preparation and kitchen operations

  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service flow

  • Assist in menu development and innovation, incorporating seasonal ingredients

  • Efficiently manage time and multitask in a high-pressure kitchen environment

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a chef (Japanese cuisine experience required)

  • Culinary qualifications or relevant training (preferred)

  • Strong sense of cleanliness and responsibility

  • Expertise in Japanese knife techniques and ingredient handling

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment

  • A team player with strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to maintain quality under pressure and work with precision
