Lead AWS Cloud Consultant

Currently looking for a Lead AWS Cloud consultant to join an industry leading Global organization on a rolling 6-month day rate contract based anywhere in Australia!

Keen to speak with Lead AWS Cloud Consultants who have extensive experience with cloud migrations to support a client with a huge pipeline of migration work across mainly AWS but also some Azure and GCP.

High level Project information:

• Independently (or in a small team) conduct migration assessments to migrate customers from either on-premises environments or from other cloud providers to AWS.
• Subsequently lead a small team through the mobilise and migrate phase to complete the migration to AWS.

Skills / Experience needed for this role:

• Solid understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS) architecture, services, and best practices is essential for this role.
• Possess a current professional-level AWS certification.
• Familiarity and understanding of Kubernetes
• Knowledge/familiarity with other cloud providers such as Azure and GCP – Nice to have
• Experience in application modernisation techniques such as containerisation, serverless computing, microservices architecture and database modernisation.

  
AWS Migration Knowledge and Experience:

• Cloud Migration Experience in migrating workloads from on-premises or alternative cloud providers (Azure, GCP) to AWS is required.
• Experience with the AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP): Knowledge of the AWS Migration Acceleration Program and experience in conducting MAP Assessments is highly desirable.
• Cost Optimization experience in conducting Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Return on Investment (ROI) analyses to develop business cases for AWS migration is highly desirable.

  
Solution Architecture and Consultancy Skills Needed:

• Ability to conduct a comprehensive assessment of an existing customer environment, including infrastructure components (virtual machines, databases, and other services), using discovery tools and conducting stakeholder interviews.
• The ability to design solutions on AWS, considering factors such as reliability, security, cost optimization, and operational excellence, aligned with business objectives, IT strategy, and compliance with security frameworks, is required.
• The ability to develop a business case that outlines the key drivers for migration, benefits, financial projections, and investment requirements.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including conducting interviews, presenting findings, and aligning technical and business stakeholders on the migration strategy and business case, are required.
