Legal Counsel – Property Development & Leasing (4-6 years experience)
Our client, a leading property developer with a reputation for delivering landmark commercial and residential projects, is seeking a Legal Counsel to take ownership of both leasing and broader property legal matters as the business continues its rapid growth.
About the RoleThis is a pivotal position with a strong focus on leasing (retail and commercial leasing), while also encompassing the full spectrum of property development legal work. You will:Lead the drafting, negotiation, and management of a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential leases, including agreements for lease, renewals, variations, and assignments.Advise on all leasing matters, including rent reviews, compliance, and dispute resolution.Oversee legal aspects of property acquisitions, disposals, and development projects, from due diligence and title review to contract negotiation and settlement.Provide guidance on zoning, land use, planning approvals, and compliance with regulatory requirements throughout the development lifecycleDraft, review, and negotiate a wide range of property-related contracts, including construction, consultancy, and service agreements.Manage relationships with external legal advisors and key stakeholders.
About YouAdmitted to practice law in NSW, with 4-6 years’ experience in property or real estate law, including substantial leasing expertise.Demonstrated ability to manage complex leasing transactions and broader property development matters.Strong commercial acumen and excellent communication skills.Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
