The Victorian Government established the Labour Hire Authority (LHA) to introduce a licensing system to regulate the provision of labour hire services across Victoria.  LHA undertakes a range of licensing, compliance and enforcement activities, maintains public registers and conducts research and education in accordance with the Labour Hire Licensing Act 2018 (Vic) (Act).

About the role 

Reporting to the Team Leader Licensing, the Licensing Officer will contribute to the successful operation of the Labour Hire Authority as a member of the Licensing team.

The daily working life of a Licensing Officer involves reviewing and assessing information submitted in licensing applications, renewals and other transaction types, and making recommendations to the delegate in relation to the assessment of license applications, renewals and approvals. The Licensing Officer will also provide information about the labour hire licensing scheme and LHA policies and processes to licence applicants and others. 

Licensing Officers have regard to a broad range of legal obligations, including labour hire, taxation, superannuation, workplace, migration, accommodation and occupational health and safety laws.

Licensing Officers are supported with a strong induction program, formal learning and development opportunities (including relevant areas of law or skill-based training), and on-the-job coaching.

This position has a flexible work location with an option of Melbourne CBD or Bendigo.
