Job DescriptionThe Manager Code Compliance leads a team to support the work of two independent Committees, the Banking Code Compliance Committee (BCCC) and the Customer Owned Banking Code Compliance Committee (COBCCC).
This leadership position, with the guidance of the Senior Manager, Code Compliance, plays an important role in delivering on each of the Committee’s purpose to monitor compliance with the respective industry Codes (the Banking Code of Practice and the Customer Owned Banking Code of Practice) to improve industry practice and delivering better outcomes for consumers.
The Manager Code Compliance leads and manages portfolios under the respective Committees’ workplans to ensure the team delivers on these areas.

The BCCC is the independent body that monitors compliance with the Banking Code of Practice and the COBCCC is the independent body that monitors compliance with the Customer Owned Banking Code of Practice.
By monitoring compliance with the Code, the Committees hold industry accountable to its promises, encourage best practice and improve customer outcomes.
While the work of the Committees is industry funded, they operate independently of the industry. The Committees operations are carried out by an independent secretariat service, provided by the Code Group, that sits within the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA).
