We are seeking a dynamic Mechanical Engineer with an understanding of MTU products. As the Mechanical Engineer you will support the design and development of standardised engineering tools and processes for MTU power engines.
The Mechanical Engineer will further maintain internal relationships with sales/projects & engineering teams through effective communication. They will work with the sales team to support correct application of product in tenders.
Annual Salary: $95,000.00 plus super.
Full time position based in Altona, Victoria.

Task & Responsibilities
- Preparing engineering documentation and drawings in compliance with project specifications and Australian Standards.
- Planning and directing the commissioning and maintenance of the MTU engineering tools and products.
- Undertake engineering calculations on projects and review supplier and subcontractor’s submissions/quotations to ensure specification compliance.
- Provide Application Engineering support to sales representatives and project managers, remotely or at customer sites as required.
- Reviewing specifications and standards for quality control, testing and coordinating inspection schedules to maximise performance.
Qualification & Experience
- Engineering Degree (Mechanical) or qualification in a relevant field.
- Knowledge of MTU products and services is a requirement.
- Former design and system integration experience with MTU products is a requirement.
- Familiar with MTU product platforms is a requirement.
- MTU product training is essential to be successful for this position.
- Competent in the use of computer aided design and drawing systems.
- At least two years of experience as a mechanical engineer with working knowledge of diesel and / or gas generators, and/or electric motors with complex electronic controls
- Strong interest in Power generation applications such as Diesel generators, Gas generators.
- Working knowledge of relevant Australian standards
- Ability to apply appropriate problem solving techniques to technical, application and other related issues.
- Ability to read and interpret technical product information bulletins.
- Willingness and ability to work with computer operating systems.
- Effective time management and multitasking skills.
