Role: Mining Engineer Location: Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane Reporting to: Principal Mining Engineer Qualifications: Degree in mining engineering. Other qualifications may be acceptable subject to the particular discipline of the group. Years of Experience: Minimum 5 years Mandatory Licenses: Australian Driver’s License Responsibilities:

• To complete the tasks and responsibilities of a senior mining engineer.
• To manage and provide leadership to mining engineers nominated under supervision.
• Performance of engineering assignments at various locations associated with particular projects.
• Office based analysis and design arising from either Mining

One derived data or data supplied by others. Key Performance Areas: These will vary depending on level of experience and on the area of specialization of each individual engineer. Key performance areas should range through the areas of project management, open cut design and underground planning and design.

• Open Cut and/or underground design, planning and optimization
• Reserve calculations
• Drill and blast optimization
• Preparation of contracts
• Ventilation modeling
• Feasibility studies
• Mine services including backfill
• Mine planning and optimization
• Mine and stope development
• Software and systems implementation
• Long and short term scheduling
• Mine economics including budgets and forecasts
• Completion of allocated tasks within the time frame and budget set for the task.
• Co-operation and communication with other staff.
• Adherence to Quality and OHS procedures.
• A thorough and dedicated approach to any given task

• Demonstrated sound written and verbal communication skills
• High level of computer literacy
• Ability to take ownership of the work
• An ability to write clear and concise reports.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills within multi-disciplinary technical teams
• Proven people management in a similar environment
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders including senior management, technical professionals and operational personnel at a senior level.
