Task & Responsibilities
- Perform essential vehicle maintenance such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire replacements, and fluid checks to keep vehicles in optimal condition.
- Use specialized tools and diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical and electrical issues in cars and other vehicles, then repair or replace faulty parts as necessary.
- Dismantle and inspect engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems, and other critical components to identify wear or faults.
- Repair or replace components like engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems, ensuring all parts are functioning properly.
- Conduct thorough tests and inspections after repairs to ensure vehicles meet safety, environmental, and performance standards.
- Reassemble engines and mechanical parts after repair, making adjustments as necessary to ensure peak performance.
- Order spare parts and manage stock to ensure the availability of necessary components for repairs, maintaining an adequate inventory for smooth operations.
- Work closely with fellow mechanics to ensure high-quality service and exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to company policies and safety regulations.
- Communicate with clients clearly and professionally, explaining vehicle issues, repair options, and providing cost estimates.
Qualification & Experience
- AQF Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (including 2 years on-job training) or AQF Certificate IV.
- Minimum of 2 years of Australian work experience as a General Motor Mechanic, with a solid understanding of automotive systems and repair processes.
- Proficient in using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and repair techniques.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality repairs.
- Full valid driver’s license.
