Mac City Pty Ltd in Dandenong South, VIC is seeking a full time Motor Mechanic who is dedicated and dependable professional who thrives in a fast-paced workshop environment. The successful candidate needs to have a strong mechanical background, keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in automotive servicing and repairs. Salary of $70,000-$80,000 for this full time position.

Job Type: Permanent full-time

Hours: 38h p/w (Monday to Friday)

Annual Salary: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00

Location ; Dandenong South, Victoria 3175.

Task & Responsibilities

Tasks and Responsibilities: 

  • Diagnosing Mechanical Issues: Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify issues with motor vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, suspension, and braking systems.
  • Performing Repairs: Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty parts and systems, ensuring all work meets the manufacturer’s specifications and safety standards.
  • Routine Maintenance: Carry out regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections to keep vehicles in top condition.
  • Testing and Adjustments: Test vehicle systems and components to ensure proper operation, making necessary adjustments to enhance performance.
  • Customer Service: Communicate effectively with customers to explain repair and maintenance needs, providing estimates and obtaining approval for work to be performed.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed, including parts used and time taken, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Workplace Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others in the workshop.
  • Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Keep tools and equipment in good working order, performing regular checks and maintenance as needed.

Qualification & Experience

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a relevant Certificate IV or equivalent in substantial experience (a Cert III and 2 years of experience will suffice, or 3 years of experience for those without a qualification).

Experience Requirement:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a motor mechanic.
  • A valid driver’s license.

 

Essential Skills and Requirements:

  • Demonstrated light vehicle repair, service and maintenance skills including a solid understanding of petrol, engines, suspension, transmission, steering and braking systems
  • Ability to read and interpret a broad range of vehicles service manuals
  • Ability to use computers for the purpose of diagnosing faults and testing vehicle parts
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to prioritise workload to ensure customer and management deadlines are met
  • Excellent customer service skills including the ability to effectively communicate technical mechanical issues to a broad audience. 
  • Passion for your trade.

Mac City Pty Ltd is a well established Vehicle repair centre operating in Victoria since 2014. It is a Licensed Vehicle Tester organization and issues roadworthy certificates. Additionally Mac City is a Registered Authorized Vehicle Verifier under the Department of Infrastructure and Transport. It offers a variety of services including Mechanical repairs, Issue of Roadworthy certificates and towing services.
