The Neuropsychologist- Senior is responsible for the provision of high-level clinical services for patients post brain injury and will provide specialised clinical neuropsychology services including initiating and leading service improvement, research, and quality activities.

About the opportunity:

Position: Neuropsychologist - Senior (Brain Injury Service)

Vacancy: Permanent part-time, 60.8 hours per fortnight

Location: North Queensland Brain Injury Service, Townsville Rehabilitation Unit, Townsville University Hospital  

  • The role is responsible for the provision of high-level clinical services for patients post brain injury and will provide specialised clinical neuropsychology services including initiating and leading service improvement, research, and quality activities. The role is part of multi-disciplinary team providing patient centred care in line with the organisational values and strategic directions.
  • Working in a tertiary teaching hospital with links to James Cook University, you will have access to academic resources and potential research collaborations, further enhancing your professional growth and development.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must possess a four-year degree in psychology from an accredited tertiary institution and have full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • The successful applicant must hold at least a post-graduate tertiary qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology, completion of the Clinical Neuropsychology Registrar Program and endorsement by Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency to practice in the area of Clinical Neuropsychology.
  • Completion of (or currently completing) an approved Psychology Board of Australia Supervisor's Training Program.
  • This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.  Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
  • This is a VPD risk role
