Nuclear Medicine Technologist Grade 2
Fixed Term, Part-Time Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our expanding team with a fixed term position (2 years) currently available for a Grade 2 Nuclear Medicine Technologist. This position presents an exciting opportunity to gain invaluable experience in the rapidly growing field of Molecular Imaging. The successful candidate will work as part of a large multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality patient care performing diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures.

THE DEPARTMENT

•    State of the are facilities - With access to one of the world’s most advanced Total Body PET/CT scanners, you'll be at the forefront of the latest technology in molecular imaging. The department consists of three radiation laboratories for manufacturing, compounding and dispensing radiopharmaceuticals, three PET/CT scanners (including a GE TBPET to be installed in 2025) and two SPECT/CT scanners.

•    Clinical research - The nuclear medicine technologists play an active role in supporting numerous clinical trials including imaging and treatment using novel PET and therapeutic tracers.

•    Education - NMTs participate and attend a variety of regular education sessions including scientific meetings and multidisciplinary meetings. The department actively supports NMTS to participate at both national and international conferences.

•    Theranositics - Expanding radionuclide therapy program includes two centres of excellence – The Neuroendocrine tumour (NET) Unit and the Prostate Theranostics and Imaging Centre of Excellence (ProsTIC). Combined, they make Peter Mac the largest Theranostic Centre in Australasia performing more than 1000 radionuclide therapy procedures each year.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

•    Bachelor of Appl Science - Nuclear Medicine (or equivalent)

•    APHRA Registration (Medical Radiation Practitioner)

•    Victorian Radiation Use Licence

•    Accredited (or eligible for accreditation) with Australian and New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine (ANZSNM)

•    Working With Children Check
