About us
The Chief Psychiatrist is responsible for overseeing the treatment and care of all voluntary patients, involuntary patients, mentally impaired accused detained at an authorised hospital, residents of private psychiatric hostels who are active with a mental health service, and all persons referred under sections 26(2) or 26(3)(a) or 36(2) for examination by a psychiatrist.

the role
This position manages, leads, directs or undertakes complex mental health and alcohol and other drug policies, projects, and management reviews pertaining to the reformed Criminal Law Mentally Impaired Act 2023 (CLMI) for an on behalf of the Chief Psychiatrist. Prepares high level submissions, planning documents and reports and contributes to program strategy development.
