Protection Officer (PO) within the Queensland Rail Network.

Entry level and Experienced Positions available

Townsville and Bowen, Queensland 

Track Protection Services are seeking safety minded, self-motivated applicants for the following roles:

A Protection Officer (PO) is a competent worker who is responsible for managing the rail safety component of worksite protection, only in the Rail Corridor including the Danger Zone (within 3m of the track).

Note: Only applicants residing in the areas of Townsville and Bowen and surrounding areas will be considered.

Application Process

Stage 1: Apply through SEEK

Stage 2: If your application is successful, you will be contacted by our Human Resources Department and invited to participate in a video conference interview.

Stage 3: Successful interviewed candidates will be required to:

  1. Successfully complete a Category 1 Rail Industry authorised medical, including a drug and alcohol test attaining a Fit for Duty status

  2. Successfully complete 2 stages of Queensland Rail approved Psychometric testing

  3. Hold a valid Driver's License

  4. Hold or obtain a Construction Induction Card (White Card)

  5. English language proficiency (verbal, reading and writing)

  6. Commit to random drug and alcohol testing

  7. Be willing to travel and complete shift work

Successful Stage 3 Applicants will gain casual employment and receive:

  • Training in National and Enterprise Qualifications

  • New PPE equipment

  • Highly competitive rates of pay and allowances
