Location: Townsville Community Care and Acquired Brain Injury Unit, TOWNSVILLE, QLD 

The opportunity

Our dedicated team at the Townsville Community Care (TCCU) and Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Unit provide a safe and respectful environment for rehabilitation with a focus on the dignity and wellbeing of clients and carers. 

The TCCU and ABI Unit offer accommodation for up to 34 clients, with the goal of facilitating their return to independent living in the community. 

Responsibilities  

  • Provide psychology assessments, treatments, and interventions using evidence-based principles for clients requiring rehabilitation and ABI mental health services. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver care on both individual and group levels, while remaining responsive to the needs of families, significant others, and the broader community. 
  • Contribute to the development of clinical practices, procedures, and protocols emphasising recovery-focused mental health rehabilitation. Engage in clinical education and practice supervision for students and staff, providing guidance to assistants or support staff when appropriate based on experience. 
  • Participate in professional supervision and development, in collaboration with the Professional senior Psychology, to maintain professional growth and ensure high quality client care. 
  • Engage in identifying, development and implementing quality and service improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of mental health and psychology services within the local community. 

What’s on offer? 
Permanent Full-time, 76 hours per fortnight. 

Remuneration package of up to $132,567 p.a., comprising base salary range of $79,051 - $1161,89 p.a. (+ applicable allowances/benefits) (HP3), recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%).

Role requirements 
The successful applicant must hold a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification from an accredited tertiary instituion in Psychology and registration with AHPRA. 

Eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the current Mental Health Act would be well regarded.
