About the role
Veteran Advocacy Australia is seeking qualified and experienced Psychologists to join our team in Brisbane. Full-time and part-time roles available. You will be responsible for providing high-quality, veteran-specific psychological support and counselling services to our clients.
What you'll be doing
Conducting comprehensive psychological assessments and developing tailored treatment plans for veterans
Providing individual, group, and family therapy sessions to address a range of mental health concerns, including PTSD, depression, anxiety, and adjustment issues
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists and social workers, to ensure a holistic approach to client care
Maintaining detailed client records and adhering to all relevant professional and ethical standards
Participating in ongoing professional development and training to stay up-to-date with best practices in veteran-specific mental health care
Contributing to the development and implementation of innovative programs and initiatives to support the mental wellbeing of veterans
What we're looking for
Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Minimum of 3 years of experience working with veterans, military personnel, or other trauma-affected populations
Demonstrated expertise in the assessment and treatment of a range of mental health conditions, with a focus on trauma-related disorders
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and work effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to contribute to the growth and innovation of our services
