Real Estate Copywriter

We are looking for a fresh new journalism graduate to join our fabulous team as a real estate copywriter. Ideally you’ll be looking for your first writing gig, have an understanding about building and real estate practices or a willingness to learn, be born and bred in the south-east suburbs of Melbourne so you understand the culture, the diversity of the suburbs and within the suburbs, and pride yourself on your writing ability and dedication to deadlines. Our job is to provide fresh, dynamic copy that helps people market their homes. Real Copy Right is a Melbourne based copywriting company writing for some of Melbourne’s best real estate agents since 1998. We pride ourselves on our consistency, quick delivery and lovable personalities. We are qualified trainers in Professional Writing and customised our training to suit the position. Many of our clients have been with us for over 20 years. We plan to keep them, add to them and provide additional services. We are looking to start a new copywriter in mid-June 2025. We offer FULL TIME – yes, FULL TIME work, where we train you in the art of real estate copy (believe me, there is A LOT to know). You get the full support of our team with a dedicated training program, booked daily jobs for you, guidance, quality control and the back up of senior copywriters who check and double check your work prior to clients receiving. It's a fast-paced industry where expectations are high, and deadlines are tight. You will need to earn your trust as there is a lot of autonomous work after the training period. We have daily deadlines, therefore you must complete your work in the business hours, no exceptions. You:· Have a degree in journalism (you need to write fast, accurate and meaningful).· Have the ability to communicate with a wide range of people· Believe that being ‘on time’ is actually arriving before time· Have an outstanding ability to observe and apply· Are reliable, honest and trustworthy· Have excellent spelling and grammar – we DO NOT use AI, we use templates that do not have spell check. You need to be able to read and re-read your work before submitting and know how to self-correct. If discovered that you’re using AI for copy creation including Word Editor or Grammarly without permission, it will be instant dismissal (please understand that these AI generated programs make your work read like it’s out of a textbook from 1965, or worse take all the personality out of your writing)· Have the ability to respond well to constructive criticism (you will get a lot in the first six months, and we need to see that you are learning from your mistakes and growing)· Are Apple focused — we use all Apple products, WhatsApp and Microsoft Office (Word) for all our writing and delivery· Are eager to learn – real estate copywriting is a dynamic writing space which does not get taught at university/college to the degree we will train you.· Will be available 9-5.30pm (8.30am on Monday mornings).
