Residential Aged Care (RAC) Operations Manager

We’re seeking an experienced and passionate RAC Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day and strategic operations of our residential aged care home in Canberra. This senior leadership opportunity is to shape service excellence, drive team performance, and uphold our commitment to dignity, autonomy, and cultural inclusion for every resident.

This role reports directly to the Board and partners with our Clinical Care Lead, HR, Finance, Lifestyle, and Maintenance teams.

 Key Responsibilities

As the Residential Operations Manager, you will:

• Lead and integrate daily operations, workforce management, resident services, compliance and continuous improvement.

• Oversee all functions aligned with the Aged Care Quality Standards (ACQS) and maintain strong Star Ratings performance.

• Partner with the Clinical Care Coordinator to ensure excellence in clinical care, medication safety, and resident well-being

• Commercially savvy in procurement and contract management

• Monitor occupancy, optimise AN-ACC funding, and support financial sustainability in collaboration with the Finance Manager.

• Ensure high-performing teams through effective leadership, recruitment, training, and performance development.

• Drive a positive, respectful, and inclusive organisational culture rooted in Villaggio’s philosophy of care

• Support strategic projects, quality systems, infection control, audit readiness, and regulatory engagement

 About You

You're an experienced operational leader who understands aged care service delivery, governance, and compliance.

You will bring:

•  5+ years of operational or clinical experience in residential aged care or health

• Strong working knowledge of ACQSC compliance, audits, Star Ratings, and aged care reform

• Proven leadership across multidisciplinary teams — clinical, hospitality, HR, maintenance, and lifestyle

• Experience in workforce planning, occupancy strategies, budgeting and contract management

•  Highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement, and change leadership skills

• Understanding of culturally inclusive care, resident rights, and person-centred practices

• (Desirable) Registered Nurse or tertiary qualifications in aged care, health, business or leadership
