Job Summary:

Priceline Pharmacy Belmont Forum is looking for a committed Retail Pharmacist to join our team. In this role, you will dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to the public, offer expert advice on health promotion and disease prevention, and educate customers on the correct use of their medications. Additionally, you will be responsible for selling non-prescription medicines and related health products, ensuring that our customers receive the best possible care and guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense Medications - Receive and accurately interpret prescriptions from customers; Review patients' medication histories to ensure optimal dosage, proper administration methods, and safe drug compatibility before dispensing; Prepare, label, and package prescribed pharmaceuticals, including liquids, ointments, powders, and tablets.

• Patient Consultation and Education - Advise customers on the proper use of prescription and over-the-counter medications; Provide guidance on health promotion, disease prevention, and medication management; Counsel patients on potential drug interactions, side effects, and contraindications.

• Drug Safety and Efficacy - Ensure proper storage and preservation of vaccines, serums, and other drugs to prevent deterioration.

• Compliance with Regulatory Standards - Maintain accurate records of all prescriptions, including the dispensing of controlled substances such as narcotics, poisons, and habit-forming drugs; Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, ensuring the pharmacy complies with health and safety standards

• Sales of Non-Prescription Medicines and Related Goods - Supply and advise on the use of non-prescription medications; Sell therapeutic aids and other health related products available in the pharmacy.

• Supervision and Coordination - Assist in training pharmacy staff including pharmacy interns, and Pharmacy Sales Assistants on health and safety procedures and best practices; Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

• Commitment to workplace health and safety, including adherence to WHS regulations, participation in safety training, and promotion of a safe work environment.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

• Pharmacy Degree with a one-year traineeship.

• PharmBA/AHPRA Registration (required).

• CPOP Certification (required).

• 2+ years of retail pharmacy experience.

• Strong attention to detail and customer service skills. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Schedule: Fixed shift 8 hours/ 12 hours and/or Flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
