Who is DEVELOP?

DEVELOP (ASX:DVP) is an emerging mine owner and mining services business with a mission to utilise the power of people to produce clean metals and help decarbonise the world. 

The first of these centres on the exploration and production of future facing metals. As part of this, the Company's energy has focused on its Woodlawn Copper Zinc mine and Sulphur Springs Zinc-Copper mine whilst reviewing the newly acquired Pioneer Dome Lithium project.  

The second plank of DEVELOP's strategy centres on the provision of underground mining services. As part of this, DEVELOP has an agreement with Bellevue Gold (ASX:BGL) to provide underground mining services at its Bellevue Gold Project in WA.

The Opportunity: Senior Environmental Advisor / Environmental Advisor

DEVELOP currently have an opportunity for a Senior Environmental Advisor / Environmental Advisor to join the growing team at our Woodlawn Copper Zinc Mine located in Tarago, NSW. 

The Senior Environmental Advisor / Environmental Advisor reports to the Environmental and Compliance Superintendent, with the primary function of this role is to assist in ensuring the compliance of the Woodlawn site to its environmental, sustainability and regulatory obligations. 

This role is ideal for experienced Senior Environmental Advisors or Environmental Advisors seeking to advance their careers, broaden their expertise, and develop leadership skills.

Develop's Woodlawn Copper-Zinc mine is located in the world-class Lachlan Fold belt in NSW, 250km south-west of Sydney.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Environmental Advisor / Environmental Advisor will include:

  • Assist in managing and updating the key environmental and regulatory documents required for permitting, operation and consent.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the site Environmental Management System (EMS) in line with company expectations and policies.
  • Assist with scheduling and prioritisation of budgets and environmental team members tasks.
  • Complete environmental monitoring, inspections and data collection as required by the department and train and mentor others to do so.
  • Review and check work completed by others in the environmental team. 
  • Assist with the site improvement of environmental risk management processes.
  • Monitor for NSW environment regulatory changes of relevance to site. 
  • Assist with the coordination and organisation of regulator site interactions and communicate company positions on areas of environmental and regulatory compliance.
  • Support technical studies and environmental impact assessments as required to support site approvals, compliance and rehabilitation activities.
  • Review and interpretation of environmental data in order to assist in the drafting of internal and external reports.
  • Assist in the managing and reviewing the environment department budget. 
  • Project management and contractor supervision in order to support smaller-scale operational and rehabilitation activities on-site.

The Requirements of the role: 

  • Bachelor of Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
  • Approximately 2-5 years relevant industry experience.
  • Computer literacy including proficiency in the Microsoft office products, and exposure to GIS.
  • Experience working directly with or for a major resources or environmental regulator.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to self-motivate and drive efficient and effective completion of allocated tasks.
  • Knowledge and experience in environmental monitoring and inspection regimes especially as applicable to operational mine sites.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying work requirements and priorities.
  • Awareness of the legislation, regulation and legal framework governing the NSW mining and resources industry.
  • Willingness to develop leadership and management skills. 
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence.
