Senior Environmental Consultant – Contaminated Land & Remediation

About the Role
My client is a leading independent soil science focused consultancy with over 30 years of experience delivering innovative, practical solutions in the brown environment (soil, groundwater, and waste). Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Senior Environmental Consultant to join their collaborative team and contribute to a variety of impactful land and groundwater projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and provide technical expertise on site investigation and remediation projects.

• Plan, implement, and report on Preliminary and Detailed Site Investigations (PSI & DSI).

• Prepare project fee proposals and tenders.

• Conduct site assessments, including soil, vapour, and groundwater monitoring.

• Carry out Acid Sulfate Soil investigations and remediation.

• Compile, interpret, and report environmental data.

• Write clear and concise technical reports and proposals.

• Travel within Australia as required for project work.

• Maintain and care for field equipment.

What You’ll Bring

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in geology, soil science, hydrogeology, or a related field.

• 7–12 years' experience in contaminated land assessment and/or remediation.

• Working knowledge of NEPM 2013, waste regulations, and hazardous materials (asbestos).

• Progressing toward CEnvP (Site Contamination) accreditation.

• Strong technical background and a passion for mentoring junior staff.

• Proven experience in high-quality report writing.

• Australian manual driver’s license.

• A commitment to safety and high professional standards.
