We have four main metropolitan clinical campuses which include our South West Sydney Campus, St George and Sutherland Campuses, the Randwick Campus and St Vincent's Healthcare Campus. Our Rural Campuses include Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Wagga Wagga, Albury and Griffith. Our goals within this school are to provide the best educational practices across all of our clinical campuses, make sure that all our researchers are well supported and that our staff and students flourish. This school may be widely dispersed physically but this gives us a fantastic scale and diversity that only enriches our clinical school. Why this role matters This key position will provide operational leadership and effective management of the School of Clinical Medicine. The position is responsible for all business operations of the School, including financial management, human resources, physical resources, student support services and work health and safety. The Senior Manager is the most senior professional role in the School and leads the Schools Professional and Technical staff, supports the development and implementation of strategies and contributes to the development and implementation of Faculty-wide policy, procedures and systems in line with UNSW direction. Some Key Skills Required Relevant tertiary qualification with extensive relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.In depth knowledge and understanding of the key strategic issues in the higher education sector as it relates to clinical medicine, and how these translate to the practical operational management requirements of a large scale, research active, student focused and internationally competitive academic endeavour.Extensive experience in people leadership, development and management, with the demonstrated skills to motivate inspire, and mobilise teams to create a positive workplace culture and deliver quality outcomes.Excellent consultation, influencing, communication, negotiation and networking to achieve outcomes, particularly in an environment where services are provided by a service provider or function.Extensive operational management skills including planning, priority setting, and managing a high volume, process-driven administrative environment with variable workflows.Strong financial management skills with experience in managing large budgets, meeting financial targets and managing for financial sustainabilityDemonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills and proven capacity to exercise initiative, flexibility and to be proactive in development of robust solutions to problems.
