About The Role:We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join our Technology & Improvement team at our chemical processing plant in Bunbury. This role will oversee projects on our Australind Pigment Plant and Kemerton Processing Plant based just north of Bunbury, in the idyllic Southwest of WA. This is a full-time site-based role, and successful candidates will need to reside in the Southwest region of Western Australia. In this role you will plan, execute, and monitor various Capital Projects from inception to completion for the Pigment Operations. The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for the following duties:Managing brownfield process and non-process infrastructure capital projects ranging from 100k-2MilOverseeing up to 10-15 projects with some projects ranging between a 6 month to 2 year delivery timeframeDevelopment and implementation of project plans, schedules, and budgets.Developing project deliverables for design & execution, including preparing datasheets, Scope of works, work packs, QAQC documentation, execution methodologies and schedules.Requesting quotes from and managing sub-contractors relevant to the project.Interpret drawings and review scopes of work to ensure it is reflected in pricing and project execution.Maintain, track and report on project progress and performance.Coordinating and supervising the work of contractors against project KPI’s and milestones.Obtaining all statutory approvals required by Legislation.Ensuring that engineering design is carried out to the requirements of ISO 9001Development and execution of Capital projects to support Maintenance Replacement, Asset Integrity and Process Improvement projects.Maintaining and fostering a collaborative effort with Maintenance, Technical and Production teams.Performing design calculations and checking / approving information on safety critical equipment.Maintaining and fostering a collaborative effort with Maintenance, Technical and Production teams.Safety Critical Responsibilities:Comply to and promote Company safety standards and procedures to contribute to an incident-free environment.Promoting process safety through exemplary behaviour and proactively increasing the awareness of process safety in others on site.Developing design scope specifications for projects, ensuring appropriate input and sign-off. About YouTo be successful in this role you will ideally possess:A relevant tertiary level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or 7+ years of experience in Managing Capital projectsSignificant post graduate experience in the successful delivery of in-house engineering projects within a complex fixed plant environment.Previous experience in the design and implementation of minor capital projects in a brownfield environment.Previous exposure to a chemical manufacturing plant or similar major hazard facility.Confident user of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)Excellent time management skills and demonstrable experience achieving tight deadlinesAbility to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
