About the Role 

Join our team as a Mental Health Senior Clinician on a part time (.2 FTE) on an ongoing basis to work at Atherton Road, Oakleigh, with regular travel using organisational fleet across catchment area and to schools is required.

Based in our CASEA Team (CAMHS and Schools Early Action Team), this position is a clinical leadership role as a Senior within the Early in Life Mental Health Service for Perinatal to adolescent populations (0-18 years). In collaboration with the Core Team Managers and the Community Mental Health Service Manager, the successful applicant will engage in reviewing referrals into the Early in Life Mental Health Service to ensure selection of group therapy programs is responsive to broader service needs. Our CAMHS & Schools Early Action (CASEA) team works with children, their families, carers and significant others, teachers, school welfare teams and broader systems to provide a range of general, specific and therapeutic interventions. CASEA is a part of the Early in Life Mental Health Service (ELMHS) - one of the most comprehensive mental health services to be found in the Victorian public sector. 

About You   

You are dedicated and passionate about children, adolescent and youth mental health. You enjoy working with people who face complex issues and have a strong commitment to family inclusive practice. You have great skills in care coordination, family work and therapeutic, evidence-based interventions, as well as good presentation skills. You are a person who lives our iCARE values of integrity, compassion, accountability, respect and excellence. We are looking for someone with:   

  • Qualifications and relevant registrations in at least one of the following: Nursing (Div. 1), Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology.   

  • Capacity to work independently and lead a team   

  • A friendly and professional attitude   

  • Excellent engagement, relationship and therapeutic skills.   

This is a Mental Health Clinician position as follows:   

  • Psychologist Grade 3: PL1 – 4,  

  • Occupational Therapist Grade 3: YB24 – 27, 

  • Social Worker Grade 3: YC46-49, Speech Pathology: YB51 – 54,  

  • Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 4: NP75 - 77  

About ELMHS 

Early in Life Mental Health Services (ELMHS) provides assessment and treatment for infants, children, adolescents, young people and their families. We work with the 0-18 age in the Southern Region. We provide a comprehensive assessment service and a range of treatment options including inpatient treatment in times of crisis, community (outpatient) treatment, group programs, family therapy, and specialist services. The Intake, Assessment, Consultation and Brief Treatment Team (iACT) provides up to six sessions of initial assessment and treatment for referrals received by our service. We work with families in addressing a number of complex issues that families may be experiencing including school refusal, parent/child relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, trauma related issues, self-harm, suicidal thinking, eating disorders, and psychosis.
