Victim Support Division are seeking an experienced Senior Project Officer to join a small team to undertake and support the design and delivery of the Queensland Government's victim support reforms and commitments. Bring your expertise in project support, high attention to detail, analytical problem solving, ability to work under a flexible and challenging face paced environment with a flair for outstanding execution of project documentation to the Victim Support Reform Projects team.

Deepen your skills and work on critical projects liaising with whole of government and other stakeholders to reform the victims of crime advocacy space.

The Victim Support Reform Projects team leads work to design and deliver the Queensland Government's victim support reforms and commitments. This includes projects to:

  • Ensure that victims of crime from across Queensland are appropriately and proactively supported and provided with the upmost support and humanity. 
  • Develop a professional victim advocacy service for victims of crime in Queensland, in consultation with key stakeholders and victims to ensure it is practical and makes a real difference.
  • Explore place-based models of trauma recovery and healing.

As Senior Project Officer you will play an important role, using your project design and project management skills to advance to Victim Support Reform initiatives through to successful implementation. The role reports to the Manager. 

Key responsibilities - as Senior Project Officer, you will specifically: 

  • Contribute to projects through the stages of development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation activities to enable their successful delivery.
  • Undertake and support project activities including research, analysis of data and other models, consultation and options development. 
  • Develop and provide input into project management and resource planning activities including documentation, reports, and status information, 
    and prepare correspondence, presentations, briefings and other types of advice.
  • Collaborate with staff, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to identify issues and solutions.
  • Document options and identify proposed changes, business benefits and success measures. 
  • Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
