About The Team & The Position Energy Markets & Corporate Digital Systems (EMCDS) run product teams to support, maintain and develop AEMO’s corporate & market applications used by AEMO business operations teams and our market participants. EMCDS also contribute to helping ensure projects are delivered on-time and to budget and aligned to AEMO’s technical standards. The Sr. Tester plays a key role in the planning, test designing, test execution, and delivery of project testing for National Electricity Market (NEM) Retail. Position Responsibilities Ensure high quality and timely execution of test cases. Provide inputs to Test lead & Test manager to prepare Test plan & Test Summary documents. Develop test cases that can be easily executed and are detailed enough to be repeatable. Work within a team to deliver system tested releases with no high severity defects. Work within a team to support execution of SIT, UAT & Industry testing. Support automation tester in maintenance and execution of automated suites. Help test team to investigate, resolve and retest defects. Supports the Test lead & Test Manager to create & execute test plans, improve current test processes & to enhance the automation capability within the team. Support & train other testers to make sure the test execution stays on track. Ensures that our systems are tested in compliance with any relevant Market Rules/Procedures. Develop a strong understanding of AEMO’s applications and how they are used by users/market participants. Works with Test lead & Test Manager to ensure successful delivery of projects & BAU deliverables. Position Requirements Skills & Experience: Proven experience in manual testing. Working experience in NEM (National Electricity Market) or Utility sector is preferrable. Demonstrated history of working in fast-paced & complex projects, involving Web based / Client server applications / Batch applications. Experience in cosmos database & Azure Applications (i.e. AKS, Function App, databricks) is highly desirable. Strong experience in database testing, API Testing and associated tools (Postman, SoapUI etc). Working experience in the use of test management tools such as Jira /PractiTest/ Service Now. An in-depth working knowledge of the principles and practices associated with testing of information technology projects. Seeks for continual improvement of the quality and speed of delivery. Familiarity with system and technical requirements in a highly regulated and complex multi-system setting. Experience in working in Agile, DevOps, CI/CD framework. Education/ Professional Certifications Tertiary level qualifications in IT, Computer Science or technology discipline ideal Certification in testing is desirable.
