Software Engineer

Vively is looking for a talented Software Engineer to join their team.

As a Full Stack React Native and PHP Engineer, you’ll play a key role in building and maintaining the Vively platform. You’ll work across the entire stack—from building smooth, intuitive front-end user experiences in React Native, to ensuring our back-end infrastructure using PHP and Laravel APIs is robust and scalable.

Task & responsibilities

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of hybrid mobile applications using React Native and work on integrating with back-end APIs built using PHP and Laravel
• Create elegant, scalable, and maintainable code, balancing user experience with performance and long-term sustainability
• Build, maintain, and improve internal developer tooling, including CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and build systems, to ensure high productivity across the team
• Work closely with the team to brainstorm and implement new features. Actively contribute to sprint planning and code reviews
• Champion software quality through early testing strategies and a focus on maintaining a robust and reliable codebase. Ensure the application is stable through rigorous unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
• Constantly improve the user experience by iterating on features, gathering feedback, and optimising app performance for speed, scalability, and usability

Qualification & experience

What we're looking for

• You have 5+ years experience in hybrid app development with experience in React Native and working with the Next.js and React framework
• Familiarity with PHP and Laravel API infrastructure
• You love building apps that are elegant, scalable, and maintainable
• You have experience building, maintaining and improving tooling to make the developer experience more enjoyable and more productive. This includes CI/CD, testing and build tools.
• You care deeply about software quality which means you’ll start thinking about a testing strategy early on. You balance this with a solid understanding of the relationship between MVP’s, costs, and tradeoffs which have to be made to keep quality high in the long run.
• You’re all about collaborating with your teammates to solve problems. You value open and transparent communication and know that to build trust in a team you need to know how to give and receive feedback.
