What you will be doing in this roleWorking as a Part Time - Full Time Speech Pathologist you will screen, assess and diagnose speech, communication and swallowing disorders and implement patient centred interventions.You will report to the very supportive and approachable Allied Health Manager and work within a wider team of Allied Health professionals to deliver the Cross Care mission of providing holistic and high-quality care to all patients.

Who weâre looking forYouâll hold a Bachelor or Masters degree in Speech Pathology (or equivalent) and be eligible for SPA CPSP membership.Youâll ideally have 2-3 years experience working within an acute care hospital setting, however new graduates/early career clinicians may be considered.Youâll ideally have knowledge of and/or experience in instrumental assessments (VFSS and/or FEES).Youâll demonstrate excellent time management skills with the ability to priorities responsibilities.Youâll be a strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.Youâll be available to work in a part time role 3 days a week and participate in a rotational Saturday on-call service.
What makes you the right candidate?Relevant Degree qualifications in Speech PathologyPrevious clinical experience as a Speech Pathologist with working knowledge of AACExperience within NDIS and the disability support sectorWell-developed understanding of Dysphagia and mealtime managementExceptional verbal and written communication skills teamed with the ability to work autonomouslyMembership with Speech Pathology AustraliaExperience supporting Autism Spectrum Disorder, Early Intervention, literacy and social skills is desirableAll successful applicants must have or be willing to obtain a Drivers License, National Police Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance prior to commencement What to expectSuccessful candidates will be required to complete a range of pre-employment checks and assessments. These vary and could include professional references, functional questionnaire, a national police check, working with children check, vaccination evidence, among others.
