As a collective we are focused on training the next generation of professionals and tradespersons and we are currently we are seeking a candidate to be mentored as a trade assistant role, with ongoing career role advancements expected in the longer term. This is a factory based position.

Position Schedule

Full time, wages / hourly rate position, 38+ hours, Mon-Fri, Hourly rate is dependant on the candidates capability experience, computer skills, attitude and technical (electrical / mechanical)  skill set.

Location of the facility

POWINS have a manufacturing workshop and hardstand facility located within the Moreton Bay community of Wynnum. Public transport is possible by Wynnum North train station, a 15 minute walk, with onsite parking also provided for employee vehicles. Ease of access by vehicle is assured with proximity to the Port of Brisbane and Gateway motorways, as well as quality roadways through the local coastal communities of Wynnum, Manly, Lota, Thornlands, Capalaba to name a few.

Position description overview

Facility store person for all location goods management. Responsibilities include Job based computer reporting and general duties as directed by the Workshop supervisor.  This is a POWINS factory based, work position.

Candidate attributes

A suitable applicant should have some or all of the below criteria of capability;

·         Hold a current QLD drivers licence – (Manual licence preferred)

·         Hold a current fork lift licence (Essential)

·         Competent to read and understand safe operating procedures associated with tasks, tooling or machines.

·         Competent to identify safety risks and cease works within the workplace should they arise to stay safe.

·         Competent to co-operate and take directions from co-workers you are appointed to assist.

·         Experience in stores management, warehousing, stock control, computer systems and reporting.

·         Experience of safe use of  general hand tools, battery tools and power tools within a workplace.

·         Make use of the provided company clothing and PPE provided to you on employment to keep you safe.

·         Able to work full time, Mon-Thurs 7:00-15:30 and Friday 7:00-13:00 as base with additional overtime when requested.

·         Additional requirements will be discussed with a suitable candidate upon interview.

·         Have a pro-active attitude towards task completion and be self-motivated once directed.
