Position Descriptor:
Seeking a full-time Secondary Years teacher in our Disability Unit for the remainder of the year.
For information on the vision for Payinthi please visit our website https://aldingapayinthicollege.sa.edu.au/. Please pay particular attention to the curriculum section in which our pedagogical and integrative approach is described.
The college was named to acknowledge our place within the Aldinga community, our aspirations as a B-12 inclusive college and to recognise our First Nations people on whose traditional land the college is built. The Kaurna meaning of Payinthi inspires us to look, seek, be curious with our thinking and is pronounced Bay-in-DEE. The principles are reflected in our way of being: INSPIRE, CONNECT and BELONG.
At Payinthi we work through an integrative curriculum called 'Kumangka' meaning coming together as one to learn.
We encourage applicants to apply who have:
Skills in designing engaging, explicit and motivating learning opportunities for ALL learners
A desire to work flexibly and collaboratively with colleagues in de-privatised spaces, both physical and digital
A commitment to providing a consistent approach to practice informed by evidence, data and reflection, including the use of DfE phonics scope and sequence and practices inline with the Science of Reading
Embedded formative assessment and dialogic teaching practices
A commitment to ensuring authentic learner empowerment
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to empathise with team, community, families and learners
A desire to work closely with others to continue to develop and refine our consistent approaches, in a new and growing site in which we all are learners together
